Pence, through his lawyers, demanded that The AP retract the story and remove his wife's email address.
Pence spokesman Marc Lotter says the emails are from government accounts as well as Pence's private email account used for government business.
The Indianapolis Star did not publish Pence's private email, but multiple email accounts-including Karen Pence's private address-appeared in the AP's reporting, leading Pence's wife to receive a torrent of "vitriolic and malicious" emails from people testing whether she was still using the same address. "There was absolutely no reason to publish this private email address, and you should be ashamed of your reprehensible conduct".
Lauren Easton, the AP's director of media relations, indicated to the Star that Karen Pence's email address was removed from follow-up stories once they learned that she was still using that account, but would not offer a retraction.
Sweden brings back military conscription in face of growing Russian Federation threat
Russia, under President Vladimir Putin, has pointedly cautioned both Sweden and Finland not to join the Western alliance. The Swedish conscription process will cull another 4,000 from its potential candidates in 1919, and 5,000 more in 2020.
The AP disclosed Karen Pence's email address Friday.

The Star obtained copies of emails through a public records request.
Lotter said Pence "maintained a state email account and a personal email account" like previous governors in the state.
"I'm very confident we are in full compliance with all of Indiana's laws". IN law allows for such use of a private email account by public officials, although the emails have to be retained as part of the public record.
He also there is "no comparison whatsoever" between his situation and Clinton's, considering she "mishandled classified information" and "destroyed" emails requested by members of Congress and other officials. "Now we commend the Federal Bureau of Investigation in this case for following the facts because in America, no one is above the law".
Meanwhile, thirteen boxes of emails from Vice President Mike Pence's term as IN governor have been turned over to state government as of Saturday morning, about two months after an earlier attempt didn't work, a spokesman said.
