Columbus Police responded to the 2300 block of Riverside Drive for a report of an abandoned vehicle that still had its engine running.

While police declined to classify the missing woman's death as a homicide, a report via WRTV cited police saying the circumstances surrounding Watt's impromptu disappearance as 'suspicious'. Family says Jacqueline's cell phone and purse were found inside and the passenger side door was open. Authorities were contacted when she didn't come home. Lt. Harris says officers are searching the area with K-9's where her vehicle was found and ask that you avoid the area. The auto turned out to be Watts' missing vehicle. According to CBS News, the police used a K-9 unit to assist them in the search for Watts.

The Indianapolis law enforcement officers that the search for the missing Jacqueline Watts has ended, after the woman's body, has been retrieved from a sandbar located near the Flatrock River.
