North Korea boycotts 'politically motivated' United Nations rights session

The body, now kept in a morgue in the capital, has been embalmed to prevent it from decomposing more than a month after the assassination, Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said.

"And those samples have been put through forensics and DNA procedures and I would like to again say that the body is that of Kim Jong Nam", said Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

When authorities in Malaysia were identifying the body of Kim Jong Nam, the late half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, after he was poisoned last month, their evidence was golden - literally.

Kim Jong Nam, who had been living in the Chinese territory of Macau under Beijing's protection, had spoken out publicly against his family's dynastic control of the isolated, nuclear-armed North Korea.

Another 10 fighters were killed in a separate drone strike in the Dand-e Patan district of neighbouring Paktia province, said Gov. William Salvin, a US military spokesman in Afghanistan, said security forces on the base killed the attacker.

Malaysia refused North Korea's request to release the body without an autopsy and investigation, and then expelled the North Korean ambassador over his remarks questioning the investigations.

The handover has been a key demand of the regime as Malaysia negotiates the safe return of nine embassy staff and family members who are effectively being held hostage in the North.

"We will send the North Korean workers who are in Sarawak, who have exceeded their visa period, back to Pyongyang".

Last Wednesday, however, a video emerged online of a man calling himself Kim Han Sol - Kim Jong Nam had a son by that name - and saying his father was "killed".

Soon after Kim was fatally poisoned at the airport, Chang and O departed Kuala Lumpur by air and made it back to Pyongyang by February 17. North Korea, which the United States and South Korea say orchestrated the murder, has denied the victim was Kim Jong Nam.

Two women - one Vietnamese and one Indonesian - have been arrested and charged with the murder.
