Uber resumes self-driving car program after brief suspension

Uber brought its fleet of self-driving cars to Arizona amid much fanfare a year ago following a dispute with the California Department of Motor Vehicles, which requires companies operating self-driving cars to report on their operations. Moreover, that the company is momentarily suspending their self-driving vehicle tests, at least while the investigation regarding the incident is ongoing.

Uber has resumed its self-driving auto tests, days after one of the company's modified Volvo SUVs flipped over in Tempe, Arizona, after it crashed into another vehicle being driven by a human driver.

However, Uber has never used its self-driving cars in San Francisco to pick up passengers.

Self-driving vehicles are proving to be a headache for Uber. This comes after one of the company's vehicles was involved in a crash in Tempe, Arizona. The ride-hailing company originally had refused to apply for the permit, causing the DMV to force Ubers' self-driving cars off the streets of San Francisco.

Arizona is one of a growing number of states that allow self-driving vehicles to be tested on public roads. Police said another vehicle - driven by a flawed human (for we all have flaws, every one of us) - was responsible for the accident. Google's self-driving auto division Waymo has had a handful of accidents on private roads but most of which are minor incidents, according to Bloomberg. Two safety drivers were in the vehicle at the time, but neither of them were seriously injured.

Leveling The Equal Pay Field: Negotiating While Black
In the past year, 43% of men received a bonus of £2,059, on average, versus 38% of women, who, on average, received £1,128. But for women of color that picture is still dismal as we represent less than 3-4% of those professions.

The New York Times also revealed the company's use of the "Greyball" program that helped Uber identify law enforcement agents who may be trying to catch it operating illegally in some places.
