Dr. Luke's Music Contract Expires Amidst Ongoing Legal Battles with Kesha

Dr. Luke's Music Contract Expires Amidst Ongoing Legal Battles with Kesha

After a February 19, 2016, preliminary injunction hearing, Kesha Rose Sebert is, for the time being, no longer forced to record in the same room with Lukasz "Dr. Luke" Gottwald, the abusive music producer who has had her under contract for the past eleven years.

Together, Sony and Dr. Luke established Kemosabe Records in 2011, after the former Saturday Night Live musician gained prominence for producing such songs as Clarkson's "Since U Been Gone" and Katy Perry's "I Kissed a Girl".

It's unclear where exactly Dr. Luke and Sony's relationship stands at the moment.

Who knew Trump would go after Canada?
However, US lumber companies are satisfied with the decision, following Trump's pledge to put America first. If confirmed, the tariffs would then have to be approved by the US International Trade Commission (USITC).

Although this may be seen in some respects as a victory for the "Free Kesha" movement, there are two potential problems for Kesha. His attorneys continue to collect information alleging that Kesha's claims that Gottwald sexually and mentally abused her during their working relationship tarnished his career.

Dr. Luke's relationship with Sony is over. She will no longer have the label as a go-between in her dealings with Dr. Luke, né Lukasz Gottwald. The singer later dropped the case to concentrate on defending herself against the NY lawsuit and on restarting her music career.

However, Dr. Luke claimed it was Kesha who owed him $1.3 million in unpaid royalties, and failed to provide notice and a 30-day cure period. He also claimed that she threatened to release damaging information about the producer to a pro-Kesha blogger. Some fans anxious that the singer would become an outcast in the music industry or go bankrupt trying to fight for a release from her contract.

Dodgers call up top prospect Cody Bellinger to help outfield
He was 23 for 67 (.343) with nine extra-base hits (four doubles, five home runs) and a 1.055 OPS in 18 games for the OKC Dodgers. On Tuesday, the Dodgers took a step toward helping their situation by promoting top prospect Cody Bellinger to the majors.

Last month, a judge denied Kesha's request for an amended lawsuit against Dr. Luke. And, as THR adds, Luke's defamation suit against Kesha is still ongoing, suggesting that their legal battle is far from over. She also alleged he verbally abused her and withheld her proper share of profits on successful singles, such as "Tik Tok".

At the time, then-CEO Doug Morris hailed the NY native as "the next Jimmy Iovine". Dr. Luke will have more hits. Do you think the NY judge should have recused herself?

Trump to order review of national monuments
Conservation groups and Native American tribal representatives slammed the looming order, suggesting it would be fought in court. Short said the review is more about the impact on local landowners, although the review would include the Antiquities Act.
