Weather service predicting heavy rains, flooding

Any storms that develop before sunset will bring brief heavy rain to the area, the Weather Service said.

Forecasters at AccuWeather are predicting about 1.25 inches of rainfall during that time. These forecasts include the rain in the forecast for most of the area through Thursday.

There is a potential for a few damaging wind gusts of 60 miles per hour or more, 1-inch or larger hail and isolated tornadoes, the weather service said.
