Jason Bateman Closes Deal for 'Arrested Development' Season 5 at Netflix

It's been two years since executive producer Brian Grazer said that 17 more episodes of the Bluth family's adventures were on the way. (After years of built-up expectations, some critics have attributed that as partly the fault of the original run's success.) Arrested Development boosted the careers of every member of its cast, particularly Bateman's. Netflix revived it for a fourth season in 2013, which had mixed reviews - the show's structure was changed radically to account for the cast's varied schedules. This is because he had officially signed on to do more episodes of Arrested Development, as of that morning.

Producer Mitch Hurwitz previous year said he was "very close" to cutting a deal with Netflix for a fifth season.
