HTC U11 Pre-Order, Release Date, Specs and Features

The new HTC U 11 smartphone is now official and we have all the details and specifications on HTC's latest Android flagship. One with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage and other is 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. Instead of having to fumble for a button to snap a photo, users of the new U11 can simply squeeze the phone to open the camera app, and squeeze again to take a selfie.

The "3D audio recording" on the U11 uses four microphones. Other features include a USB Type-C port, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS, GLONASS, but misses out on the 3.5 mm audio jack. Four of the HTC's colours - silver, blue, black and white - will be available in the United Kingdom when the phone launches in June and the red variation will come later this year. There is no information provided regarding the price but it is rumored to be roughly Rs 50,000.

Under the hood, the HTC U11 ships with a Snapdragon 835 processor that is clocked at 2.45GHz.

Perhaps the most highly publicized feature of the device is its "Edge Sense".

Under this all-glass shell is the latest and greatest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor which is one of the fastest chips now on the market.

To complement the squeeze functionality, the manufacturer spruiked the advanced voice assistant capabilities of the U11 - which come with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and HTC Sense Companion ready to use out of the box. The Acoustic focus is yet another new feature that HTC has introduced with the U11. This is the highest ever score by a smartphone camera and it surpasses last year's 89 achieved by the Google Pixel.

When it comes to raw specs, the HTC U11 is a flagship-tier device. It features a 16MP front camera with 150-degree wide-angle lens. It is armed with 3000 mAh non-removable battery with support for Quick Charge 3.0.

12 megapixel, UltraPixel 3 rear-facing camera to smooth shaky photography.

The latest flagship by HTC also comes with an IP67 certification for water and dust resistance, which means it is dust tight and can withstand being immersed in up to 1m of water for up to 30 minutes. We can only comment on the practicality once we try it out, however. The handset is Hi-Res Audio certified, and comes with HTC's BoomSound Hi-Fi Edition which makes the earpiece acts as one speaker, set up as a tweeter, while the speaker on the bottom takes care of the bass. And the phone comes in five gorgeous, shimmering colors, including two impressive new hues - "amazing silver", which shifts between a sky blue and silvery gray, and the fiery "solar red", my personal favorite.
