Tom Cruise Confirms 'Top Gun' Sequel Is 'Definitely Happening'

Tom Cruise has some very exciting news for those of you with an unquenchable need for speed and monklike patience for sequels.

The original Top Gun, an iconic movie about U.S. Navy pilots, was released in 1986.

Trump heads to Israel in possible first arrival from Saudi
He said: "Never before has the first foreign trip of a president of the United States included a visit to Israel". Trump was joined by first lady Melania Trump, his son-in-law Jared Kushner and daughter Ivanka Trump.

The 54-year-old actor announced during an appearance on Australia's Sunrise morning show on Tuesday that Top Gun 2 is officially happening.

He said, "it's true, yeah it's true", while smiling like it was the greatest news ever. He also said the plan is to start filming "probably in the next year".

Callers threaten Texas lawmaker who seeks Trump impeachment
Last week, Trump fired FBI director James Comey allegedly because Comey would not back off the investigation. In fact, 15 federal judges have been impeached, although only eight have been removed from the bench.

"Yes, it's true. It's true", responded Cruise. "I know, it's happening, it is definitely happening". "It's happening. It is definitely happening". But director Tony Scott died by suicide that summer, and the sequel was hangared again until 2014 and 2015, when producer Jerry Bruckheimer hired a screenwriter and David Ellison's Skydance came on to produce.

Well then, let's hope Cruise's stunts for the highly anticipated sequel go down (or shall we say up?) a little better the second time around! "You're the first people that I've really said it [to]". In January a year ago, Bruckheimer tweeted a picture of himself and Cruise, saying the pair talked about "a little Top Gun 2".
