London mayor calls to cancel Trump's planned United Kingdom visit

U.K. Prime Minister Theresa May on Monday defended Khan by saying the London mayor had done an "excellent" job in the days after the attack, while also pointedly saying that "it's wrong to say anything else".

Then, on Monday, he combined another shot at Khan with criticism of the mainstream media, tweeting: "Pathetic excuse by London Mayor Sadiq Khan who had to think fast on his "no reason to be alarmed" statement. MSM is working hard to sell it!"

In fact, Khan was referring specifically to increased police patrols on the streets of London, and reassuring its residents not to be unduly concerned by that escalation.

Mr Khan's spokesperson had described the first round of presidential tweets as "ill-informed" - and said they had deliberately taken the mayor's remarks out of context.

Apple says its Apple Pay program will now be able to pay person to person, similar to popular apps like Venmo. The device will apparently highlight sound quality and work with various other products of Apple.

People gather at Potters Fields Park as London mayor Sadiq Khan speaks, flanked by home secretary Amber Rudd and shadow home secretary Diane Abbott, in London on June 5 during a vigil to commemorate the victims of the London Bridge terror attack.

Khan, who initially chose to ignore Trump's comments on the ground that he had more important things to do, called on the May government to cancel the proposed visit. "One of the things the police, all of us need to do is make sure we're as safe as we possibly can be", Khan said.

"I invite all Londoners - and everyone visiting our city - to come together in solidarity to remember those who have lost their lives, to express sympathy with their families and loved ones and to show the world that we stand united in the face of those who seek to harm us and our way of life", Khan said. "No reason to be alarmed", he wrote on Twitter. "Donald Trump responded to the attack by mocking Sadiq Khan".

As reported in the Guardian, Khan appeared on Channel 4 News last evening, and said that Trump's state visit should not go ahead.

Predators reach first Stanley Cup final
The Ducks had a chance to complete the comeback when Roman Josi took a delay-of-game penalty for shooting the puck over the glass. As we expected, the games would be tight; the first two games were decided by one goal with each team winning one.

Asked about the spat with Mr Trump, Mr Khan told ITV1's Good Morning Britain: "We're not kids in a playground, he's the president of the US". You stand shoulder to shoulder with them in times of adversity but you call them out when they are wrong and you tell them when they are wrong.

"When you have a special relationship it is no different from when you have got a close mate".

With the United Kingdom general election just two-days away Sadiq Khan did not just have Donald Trump in his sights. All three assailants were neutralized by Metropolitan Police, but the attack left seven dead and 48 wounded, ABC News reports.
