McCain Explains Iffy Performance During Comey Hearing

Comey delivered his answer clearly.

Comey pointed out they were separate investigations, begun at different times.

"That investigation was going on". What if the national spectacle the country has endured comes down to one man, James Comey?

"You look back in hindsight, you think, 'Should I have resisted harder?' I said this isn't a hill worth dying on".

Instead, McCain flummoxed Comey with a question about why "the investigation of anything former Secretary Clinton had to do with the campaign is over and we don't have to worry about it anymore?"

The Royals went 5-5 on their homestand. "As he started his throwing program in the bullpen, a couple of things happened". Lance McCullers' no-hit bid ended with one out in the seventh when he gave up a triple to Kansas City's Lorenzo Cain .

"You may have taken it as a direction, but that's not what he said", said Sen.

Former Director James Comey speaking before Sen. Lynch had been requested numerous times to appoint a special counsel, and had refused?COMEY: Yes, from - I think Congress had - members of Congress had repeatedly asked.

In one of the unexpected moments of the day, Comey essentially took credit for Mueller being on the case.

"And that confused me and concerned me", Comey said.

But the goal wasn't just to tell his story. (I) didn't do it myself for a variety of reasons, but I asked him to because I thought that might prompt the appointment of a special counsel.

Senators to ask about Trump pushback on Russia investigation

Comey knew the whole thing could come down to his word against the president's, and he wanted the memos to serve as proof of his version of events. "It didn't seem to me to be important for the conversation we were having to understand it", Comey said. "And I said, 'Why would I do that?' And she said, 'Just call it a matter'".

Comey also testified that when former President Bill Clinton visited with Lynch on her plane, it shifted something in that investigation.

The Arizona baseball team tweeted the statement out with a stick figure putting its hands up as if to say: "Sorry we're not sorry, Senator".

Trump admitted last month in an interview with NBC that the investigation played a role in his decision to fire Comey, calling news coverage of the investigation "fake news".

In his testimony Thursday, Comey said the Trump administration quickly sought other explanations for the firing and in doing so "defamed" him by saying the bureau under his leadership was out of control and suffering from low morale.

Apple says its Apple Pay program will now be able to pay person to person, similar to popular apps like Venmo. The device will apparently highlight sound quality and work with various other products of Apple.

He'd had moments of discomfort during the Obama administration as well. Nearing the end of more than 2½ hours of questioning, McCain focused his line of questioning on two FBI investigations: the 2016 investigation into Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server and the 2017 investigation into Russian interference in the presidential election. Something about John McCain questioning Comey seemed off, and it was very clear to the viewers.
