Celtic facing more sanctions after second Linfield clash

Uefa confirmed that Celtic will face charges for illicit banners, kit infringement and stairway blocking following Wednesday's game.

Scotland global Griffiths was targeted by objects thrown from a section of the home crowd while taking a corner.

Celtic cruised into the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League with a 4-0 victory over Linfield, earning it a 6-0 aggregate advantage and a clash with Norwegian champion Rosenborg - the home of Tom Rogic's worldwide team-mate Alex Gersbach.

The situation reached its nadir in the second half when Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths had a whiskey bottle thrown at him as he attempted to take a corner. The Glasgow club is also charged with improper conduct after its players picked up five bookings.

Delta hits back against conservative author Ann Coulter
Delta responded in perhaps the ideal way, not riling up Coulter but acknowledging that such abusive behavior is not acceptable. After Delta released its statement, Coulter continued to attack the airline and her critics on Twitter .

Griffiths, 26, was booked during the match for what looked like "time-wasting" despite having objects, including a Buckfast bottle, hurled at him.

The club's supporters also invaded the pitch at the end of the match. Celtic have been punished 10 times in the past six years for supporters' misconduct during European ties.

"Any support for a paramilitary or proscribed terrorist organisation has no place at Celtic Park", the club said.

The two fresh cases that arise from the Linfield game are set to be heard by the "UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body on 20 July".

"Although the majority of supporters attending these matches are well-behaved and enjoy the game, there is often a minority who are intent in drinking too much alcohol and engage in criminal behaviour such as disorder, offensive behaviour and vandalism".

UEFA ordered Linfield to close a section of the stadium when it plays its next home game in the Champions League or Europa League, and fined the club 10,000 euros ($11,600).

Celtic have racked up over £100,000 in fines since 2011 for a number of issues regarding fan behaviour.
