Sinatra talked to the New York Times in 2011 about her superstar husband remaining on friendly terms with his ex-wives, which she said didn't bother her. She's also survived by daughter-in-law Hillary Roberts and granddaughter Carina Blakeley Marx. Her first marriage collapsed when she was caught having an affair with Zeppo Marx, an actor and comedian. She married Sinatra three years later in 1976.

"I've tried to analyse it", she told The Desert Sun, of her attraction and subsequent romance with Sinatra.

Barbara became involved in supporting and raising funds for a number of charitable projects years after she married Sinatra.

As well as being a professional model, Barbara was an activist on behalf of abused children and worked with her late husband to raise money to found a facility to provide counselling and other services to youths suffering from physical, sexual, and emotional trauma. "There are several child advocacy centers like it around the country, [but] this one is probably most recognised".
