Plague Expert Among 2 Wanted for Chicago Murder

CHICAGO-Police are searching for a Northwestern University professor and a University of Oxford employee suspected in the stabbing death of a Chicago man and have alerted law enforcement agencies around the country that the pair should be considered armed and risky.

On Monday, a Cook County judge issued arrest warrants for NU Associate professor Wyndham Lathem, 42, and University of Oxford employee Andrew Warren, 56.

Chicago police officers discovered the body of the victim, Trenton H. James Cornell-Duranleau, inside a 10th-floor apartment unit in the "sophisticated and timeless" Grand Plaza Chicago River North Apartments last Thursday night. He lived in the 2200 block of South Wood Street in Chicago.

"Lathem has been a faculty member in the department of microbiology-immunology since 2007", according to a statement from Alan Cubbage, vice president for university relations at Northwestern.
