Kris Kobach gets public dressing-down over Breitbart column

Casey has been covering the debate over New Hampshire's voting laws since just after the election, when a newly-elected President Trump first claimed that buses of out-of-state voters were responsible for his loss to Hillary Clinton here.

It's no surprise that the right wing media, from Drudge to the Worldnetdaily to the Moonie Times, jumped all over Kris Kobach's utterly asinine "proof" of voter fraud in New Hampshire because a few thousand college students voted there while having an out-of-state drivers license (shocker!). Gardner, a Democrat, declined, saying Tuesday at the meeting that "New Hampshire people aren't accustomed to walking away or stepping down from their civic duty, and I will not either".

Gardner has come under fire from members of his party for continuing to serve on Trump's commission, especially in light of Kobach's column. He also said Ayotte lost due to illegal voting. In the run-up to the meeting, Kobach wrote an article for the discredited Breitbart website that recycled President Trump's bogus claim about thousands of illegal votes being cast previous year in New Hampshire.

CNN ran a story Tuesday titled, "12 white men - and no minorities - to testify at Trump voter commission meeting".

Andrew Appel, a professor at Princeton University, said it would be easy to write a program that cheats on election results and deletes evidence of the hack as soon as the results are reported.

Hart-felt relief for West Ham keeper after battling win over Huddersfield
Slaven Bilic said that his West Ham United players now "cannot wait" for their next home games at the London Stadium. Bilic, who's 49th birthday coincided with his side's victory, looked visibly relieved at the end of the game.

Kobach lied in his Breitbart article about New Hampshire election law to provide the illusion that if one has an out of state drivers' license it must mean they violated the election law. "States, do with it what you want'". Among them is the Crime Prevention Research Center's John Lott Jr., who will advocate for background checks for voters, and last wrote about fraud and elections in 2007. Since then, 5,526 of those individuals never obtained a New Hampshire driver's license and only 213 of those registered a vehicle in New Hampshire.

The analysts didn't point to any specific election that they knew had been compromised, but they said hackers likely would leave fingerprints only if they wanted to be spotted and hurt confidence in the US electoral system.

Indeed, Hassan's victory margin was even narrower - about 1,017 votes out of more than 700,000 cast.

Unlike most other states, including liberal Vermont right next door, New Hampshire doesn't require voters to prove that they live in New Hampshire in order to vote there. "Some parts of our electorate wish to beat their chests on so-called 'voter fraud, ' and there may be some isolated instances of irregularities, but, I would venture to say, thousands upon thousands more people are stricken from voter rolls without justifiable cause or have their vote suppressed". The ACLU accused the commission of "rigging the panels" with witnesses who raise "allegations of fraud so it can reach a result that will make voting harder". He said that's proof that voter fraud occurred.

Kobach, who has been roundly criticized for making unfounded voter fraud claims before, didn't respond to directly to the criticism.

Rams All-Pro Tackle Aaron Donald Abruptly Ends His Holdout
Donald did pass his physical, which PFT reported, but Donald is still at least one week, if not more from being in game shape. The Los Angeles Rams received some good news on the eve of their season opener against the Indianapolis Colts .

The panel also heard a presentation from three speakers on electronic voting systems and their impact on election integrity, and watched a demonstration of 19th century New Hampshire voting machines still in use today.

Among the technology are e-poll books, electronic devices that can read a person's identification and quickly allow the election official to determine whether the person is registered and which ballot the voter should have.

He said the system has most of the information registrars are interested in - chiefly citizenship status and criminal history - when they sign up voters.

DUNLAP: It oversimplifies the model to say that there's a direct path to fraud through the driver's license. Jason Kander, the former Missouri secretary of state who has launched the Let America Vote political action committee and chairs a Democratic National Committee voting rights panel, has scheduled a rally and press conference where he is expected to tear into the Kobach-led commission.
