Sylvester Stallone Announces Creed 2's New Director, And It's Not Surprising

This confirms that Creed director and co-writer Ryan Coogler won't be involved with the sequel, as Stallone has already stated that he has written the movie's script. Part of this is because the film has spent the last two years without a director, however, the project how now moved forward in that particular area.

Stallone has announced that he will be directing, producing and starring in the highly anticipated film Creed 2, starring Michael B. Jordan. It served both a spin-off as well as a sequel to Stallone's "Rocky" film series.

Talks about the potential for Creed 2 were being had as far back as January previous year, with Jordan stating he believed that a sequel would need a real villain. That being said, those hashtags could be telling us a different story, and it would be kind of insane for Stallone to do that at this point considering he just earned an Academy Award nomination for his last performance. Cor, as if we couldn't love him any more. Jordan played Adonis Creed, the son of Apollo Creed, with Stallone reprising the role of Rocky Balboa.

It hasn't been confirmed whether Dolph Lundgren will return as Ivan Drago but if Stallone's Instagram is anything to go by we can only hope.
