Six people of a family were killed and three were injured after a two-story residential building collapsed on Monday due to cylinder blast in Ejipura area of Bengaluru.

Mean While Karnataka Minister KJ George who visited the blast site said the government will adopt a girl child who was rescued but lost her parents. Some people are still feared trapped. However, the Karnataka Home Minister has negated the assumption of cylinder blast behind the building collapse.

The incident is believed to have taken place at 7 am on Monday, and the building has reportedly been reduced to rubble. "It is only after an investigation is conducted that we can tell if the cylinder explosion caused the building to collapse", the minister said.

The toll in a three-storey building collapse has gone up to seven, according to the latest update by the news agency ANI.

As per a TOI report, the victims were identified as Sharavana, his eight-month-pregnant wife Ashwini, Kalavathi, Ravichandran, Hariprasad and Pavan Kalyan.

Personnel of the fire brigade and National Disaster Response Force recovered the bodies including that of two women.
