Danica Patrick Is Done With Full-Time Racing

Beyond a possible TV deal, a person briefed on Patrick's 2018 strategy who is not authorized to speak publicly told USA TODAY Sports that Patrick is exploring a plan to run the biggest races in American motorsports next year: February's Daytona 500 and May's Indianapolis 500.

"I feel like I should be doing this", Patrick said after regaining her composure.

After regaining her composure, Patrick said she would still race next season's Daytona 500 and the Indianapolis 500, an IndyCar Series event.

Operation Christmas Child organizers hope to collect 18000 boxes this year
Joseph area team volunteers, which the Maryville area is part of, have a goal of collecting more than 9,250 gifts during the week. Monday was the first day for boxes to come to Unity's multi-purpose building at the church's campus, 311 Smokey Road.

"I never say never", Patrick said. "I think it's going to be a great way to cap it off".

"Nothing that was being presented excited me, then about three weeks ago, I just blurted out, 'What about Indy?"

Graham Rahal, whose father Bobby ran Patrick in the Atlantic championship and the first two years of her IndyCar career, said recently that she would be welcome back at the Brickyard in an open-wheel vehicle.

Patrick's contract with Stewart-Haas Racing will come to an end on Sunday after the season-ending NASCAR Cup Series race at Homestead-Miami. My plan is to be at Indy, and then I'm done.

The AP reported her likely Indianapolis 500 team will be Chip Ganassi Racing and the race will be her last one. She has seven other podiums and a fifth-place championship finish back in 2009.

It was since widely speculated that Patrick may perhaps be retiring from her racing career since her chances of finding another full-time ride in the Cup Series were slim.
