Texas DPS Trooper Shot & Killed on Thanksgiving; Suspect at Large

The highway patrol trooper Damon Allen pulled over the suspect, Dabrett Montreal Black, Thursday afternoon for a traffic violation on an interstate south of Dallas when Black allegedly fired multiple shots at the officer as he returned to his patrol auto.

The nearby Navarro County emergency management agency identified 32-year-old Dabrett Black as a suspect in the fatal shooting.

An investigation is now on-going to determine exactly what happened.
