'Thousands' of emails uncovered in Trump Russia probe

The comments come after lawyers for Trump's transition accused the special counsel of "unlawfully" obtaining tens of thousands of emails from the transition.

Trump for America counsel Kory Langhofer told Senate and House lawmakers in a letter Saturday that a General Services Administration staffer "unlawfully produced" the records for Mueller's Russian Federation probe, according to the memo obtained by Axios and Buzzfeed.

Also on Saturday Kory Langhofer, a general counsel for TFA, sent a letter to chairs of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs and the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.

Loewentritt told BuzzFeed News that the GSA initially "suggested a warrant or subpoena" for the materials, but that the Special Counsel's Office determined the letter route was sufficient.

Christmas celebrations cancelled in Jesus' hometown, Nazareth
Mayor Ali termed Trump "wretched" and said the USA president had "stabbed" Palestinians with the Jerusalem decision. Protests have rocked the Middle East and Muslim countries in Asia, and several people have died as a result.

The emails were not GSA's to give away, according to Langhofer.

"Our Committee has direct jurisdiction over the Presidential Transition Act, and it simply does not support withholding transition team emails from criminal investigators", Cummings said. He did not name the transition officials who used the devices.

GSA Deputy Counsel Lenny Loewentritt, who Langhofer blames along with other GSA career staff for providing the transition documents to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, told Buzzfeed that Beckler didn't make a commitment to the transition team that requests from law enforcement for materials would be routed through transition lawyers.

Langhofer argues in the letter that decision by GSA officials went against what he calls "the GSA's previous acknowledgement concerning" the Trump campaign's "rightful ownership and control of" transition team materials. Beckler died in September.

Israeli PM urges approval of Jerusalem decision
The Palestinians were reacting to President Donald Trump's decision to recognise Jerusalem as Israel's capital. Trump's declaration received wide criticism and opposition from Arab and Muslim countries.

Two administration officials meanwhile Sunday sought to downplay speculation that Trump was preparing to fire Mueller, who was appointed after Trump abruptly fired then Federal Bureau of Investigation director James Comey, who was leading an agency probe into the Russian Federation affair. Officials with Trump for America learned last week that GSA officials had turned over the cache of emails to Mueller's team.

The special counsel - on the clock since mid-May, though he did inherit more than a year's worth of FBI investigations related to the election hacking and other lines of inquiry - has already obtained a guilty plea and cooperation from former national security adviser Michael Flynn. But GSA official Lenny Loewentritt said there was nothing improper about the disclosure of the emails to Mr Mueller's team.

"Democratic lawmaker Eric Swalwell was among the first to hit back at the claims: "'Private documents' on a U.S. Government, public email system? Baloney. This is another attempt to discredit Mueller as his #TrumpRussia probe tightens.
