Pizza Hut, Toyota teaming up to pilot self-driving delivery cars

The all-electric autonomous vehicle-if ever produced-would used Toyota's "guardian" and "chauffeur" technologies. However, given the low floor and uninterrupted interior space, the automaker says that it could really build the vehicle to objective, whether that was for moving cargo, making deliveries, or as a ride-sharing cab.

Akio Toyoda, president of Toyota Motor Corporation, told attendees at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas on Monday that self-driving cars will muddy distinctions between brick-and-mortar and online commerce.

Toyota's news comes as major auto manufacturers and tech giants gather this week at the event, formerly the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), to showcase whole suites of products meant to overhaul human mobility. Toyota envisions the e-Palette will serve a variety of potential uses, allowing businesses to deliver goods, transport people, or use the vehicle as a mobile storefront or office. At one time, the vehicle could deliver parcels, but it could just as easily begin picking up riders for Uber.

Nvidia is bringing gargantuan 65-inch displays to gamers
You might know them as large screen TVs, but with the added bonus of full 120Hz HDR displays and G-SYNC compatibility. Called Big Format Gaming Displays ( BFGDs ), these new 65-inch displays flaunt 4K, HDR , and run at 120Hz.

The battery-drive prototype will make the transition from concept to reality two years from now when Toyota puts several versions of the e-Palette into service during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Each vehicle will be purpose-built depending on its use.

"Today you have to travel to the store", Toyoda said. Each e-Palette is also created to be shared between businesses and to quickly transition between applications. Proponents contend the technology will reduce congestion and improve highway safety, among other things.

The electric, box-shaped vehicle will come in three sizes. How about a pizza oven that comes to you? The Alliance encompasses a host of launch partners, including Pizza Hut, Amazon, Mazda, and Uber, which will all leverage Toyota's proprietary Mobility Services Platform (MSPF).

This episode of Unfiltered is all about being truthful. "I think once people know you're pregnant, you get all the excuses". Khloe Kardashian recently made her first TV appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Showsince she announced her pregnancy .

Toyota has laid out plans for a vehicle ecosystem that could challenge the way we use roads. Perhaps most interesting is the e-Palette's flexibility. If that's the case, it's hard to see how Toyota's mobility concept will have much application outside self-contained environments like college campuses or retirement communities.

Toyota has been working to develop fully autonomous cars to serve an aging population and the disabled, and technology for regular production cars that could switch between assisted and full autonomy.
