N. Korea says it loaded H-bomb onto missile

State-owned broadcaster Korean Central Television (KCTV) said leader Kim Jung-un ordered the test on Sunday.

Experts estimated that blast to have been around 10 kilotons.

The test comes during already tense relations with the worldwide community, including the US.

North Korea also boasted that all of the components of the new weapon were "homemade", thus "enabling the country to produce powerful nuclear weapons, as many as it wants", without worrying about import sanctions.

South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff said in a statement that the military had "detected a man-made natural disaster near Punggye-ri and is analyzing whether it was a nuclear test".

KRT did not give any details of the announcement, but it comes after natural disaster activity was detected earlier Sunday in what is presumed to have been a North Korean nuclear test. That test was one of two tests conducted past year.

Thomas Lemar "very happy" at AS Monaco following Arsenal pursuit
The 21-year-old scored 12 goals in 39 appearances last season as Monaco won the Ligue 1 title for the first time in 17 years. But Lemar remained uncertain on Arsenal and is said to prefer Liverpool as a potential destination.

"After examining the data, we concluded that it was a nuclear test", Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Kono said at a briefing after a meeting of Japan's National Security Council.

Japan's Ministry of Defense said it had dispatched at least three military jets from bases in Japan to test for radiation.

The bomb can be loaded on a new intercontinental ballistic missile.

The quake was felt in northern China in Yanji, near the North Korean border, according to local media.

North Korea conducted two nuclear tests a year ago, the most recent in September, amid global alarm and condemnation led by the US.

Jana Pursely, a USGS geophysicist, told AFP: "It's an explosion rather than an quake".

Taylor Swift's 'Look What You Made Me Do' Just Made YouTube History
The new video acquired 30,000 views per minute during the first 24 hours and averaged 3 million views per hour. Director Joseph Kahn celebrated the achievement on Twitter, telling Swift's fans "you are all amazing".

The blast first measured in at 5.6 on the Richter scale but has since been revised up to a much stronger 6.3.

Despite the global pressure, however, missile and nuclear tests have continued unabated.

No further information was available at the time of writing.

The development comes days after North Korea launched a long-range intercontinental ballistic missile over Japan, prompting an angry response from the United States and regional allies.

KCNA also claimed that the "super explosive power" of the hydrogen bomb could range from "tens kiloton to hundreds kiloton".

"Nuclear Electromagnetic pulse (EMP) has the potential to disrupt, damage, or destroy a wide variety of electrical and electronic equipment", CNN quoted the U.S. Department of Energy statement.

Hope and glory as West Indies stun England
Windies still required 76 runs to win and just over 20 overs in which to do it but the tourists had clearly chose to go for it. It was about trying to get as many runs on the board as possible, so I'm actually pleased I got through the 90s a bit faster.

The latest test seemed to bring North Korea a step closer to the goal of developing a nuclear-tipped ICBM capable of reaching the continental US.
